Arty, as we fondly call her, is a pure-bred Corriedale Ewe. In Greek Mythology Artemis was the goddess of the hunt, and she truly is. She was attacked at birth by a fox and orphaned. (Back when we lived in Victoria, we have no foxes here in Tassie) We adopted her and raised her on a bottle and lots of love during the 2020 COVID lockdowns. She is a survivor who prefers the company of our family over other sheep and will always come over for pats, treats and cuddles. She also enjoys a good hairdo. Due to the wool growth habit, Corriedales need an extra trim mid-year to keep the wool out of their eyes. It’s become tradition that she also gets a little colour.
Her wool is my go-to for super soft projects.

I’d classify this wool as a 5 ply, as I feel it’s too fine to be a true 8 ply.
Its aprox 320 m long and weighs approximately 100g.
This wool was spun in a small family mill in Victoria and scoured using gentle natural processes.
